What place can you still walk round in your head?

Some places you can still move through with your eyes shut. You know which stair creaks, which door sticks, where the light came in of an afternoon.

Most of them are gone now, or belong to somebody else. A grandmother's kitchen. A classroom. A shop on the corner that sells something different.

You did not decide to keep it. It kept itself.
